Canoe Bay Sailing Club – Membership Overview

Canoe Bay Sailing Club (CBSC) is a friendly, volunteer‑driven community of sailors, racers, and supporters on the Saanich Peninsula. Whether you’re on the water every week or simply love being part of the local sailing scene, there’s a place for you here. We offer three membership categories designed to welcome a wide range of participants, and there are no initiation fees. The Club also offers the ease of a community with no clubhouse fees or overhead, keeping things simple, affordable, and focused on time on the water.

Active Membership – $35/year

Active Membership is designed for sailors who want to race and represent the Club. It is intended for individuals who own a boat and participate in CBSC racing, including eligibility to race at BC regattas under the CBSC affiliation through BC Sailing. Active Members are eligible for scoring and awards and are welcome at all Club social events. They also have opportunities to volunteer and support race operations as part of the Club community.

Social Membership – $25/year

Social Membership is ideal for supporters, friends, and community members who enjoy the social side of the Club. It is intended for individuals who may or may not own a boat but want to support the Club and join in the fun. Social Members have access to all Club social events, are included in general Club communications, and have opportunities to volunteer at events and races as part of the CBSC community.

Honorary Membership – No Charge

Honorary Membership is a special recognition for individuals who have provided exceptional service to the Club. It is intended for those who have made an outstanding contribution to the welfare or objectives of CBSA. Honorary Members are nominated by the Board of Directors and confirmed by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. Once appointed, an Honorary Member enjoys all the privileges of a Social Member.

How to Join

Becoming a member is simple. Just send a message to the Club to let us know you’d like to join, and once confirmed, you’re officially part of the Canoe Bay Sailing Club community. Members also enjoy a free first year of membership for returning members.
